It’s official Alan Jackson, the legendary voice behind some of country music’s most beloved hits, has announced that his touring career is coming to an end. After over four decades of captivating audiences worldwide, the Country Music Hall of Famer plans to wrap up his final road show with a grand finale in Nashville in 2026.

Jackson, whose career spans more than 30 years, is considered one of the most influential artists in country music history. With a distinct sound that blends traditional honky-tonk with mainstream appeal, he has amassed numerous awards, including multiple CMA and ACM accolades, and has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Known for hits like “Chattahoochee,” “Remember When,” and “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning),” Jackson’s legacy is cemented in the genre’s history.


A Bittersweet Announcement

During his performance at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum part of his “Last Call: One More for the Road” Tour Jackson addressed the sold-out crowd, confirming what many had speculated. “Y’all may have heard that I’m kinda winding down. In fact, this is my last road show,” he announced, prompting a wave of cheers and applause.

Reflecting on his career, Jackson reminisced about the early days when he and his wife, Denise, moved to Nashville from Newnan, Georgia. “It’s been a long, sweet ride. It started 40 years ago this September,” he shared, emphasizing how blessed he feels to have lived the American dream.


The Milwaukee show, like many on the tour, was filled with both planned and spontaneous musical moments. Jackson treated fans to a setlist packed with hits, including “Wanted” and “I’d Love You All Over Again,” dedicated to his wife in the audience. Since announcing his diagnosis with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in 2019, Jackson has been open about his health challenges. Despite this, he has continued to tour, raising over $2.25 million for the CMT Research Foundation through ticket sales, donations, and other initiatives.
