Koe Wetzel & Friends Raise the Roofand Over $774,000 for Kerr County Flood Relief

The Lone Star State showed up and showed out on Monday night, August 4, as Koe Wetzel & Friends: Stronger Together transformed Toyota Music Factory into a heart-thumping, community-driven celebration of music, resilience, and Texas pride. Spearheaded by genre-bending Texas hitmaker Koe Wetzel, the benefit concert raised a staggering $774,870 and counting for the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

Fueled by the passion of Wetzel’s fanbase and the generosity of his fellow artists, the funds are being channeled through his nonprofit, Koe’s Kids. Donations are still being accepted, and a raffle for a Can-Am Defender Max Lone Star Cab, donated by Progressive Powersports in Granbury, is open through Labor Day weekend.

A Night of Music, Unity, and Purpose

In true Texas fashion, the lineup was stacked with musical heavyweights and close-knit camaraderie. Wetzel was joined by Kolby Cooper, Casey Donahew, Ray Wylie and Lucas Hubbard, Pecos Hurley (of Pecos & The Rooftops), Mike Ryan, Shane Smith (of Shane Smith & The Saints), and Dylan Wheeler. Each act brought their A-game and their heart, offering up performances that straddled the line between honky-tonk rowdy and soul-stirring sincerity.

“To see how packed the fans had the Pavilion on a Monday night, that love and support for this cause meant everything,” reflects Wetzel. “I can’t say thank you enough to my buddies who came out and donated their time, too. Seeing them all get up there and play with the band I’m blessed to stand on stage with every night is something I won’t forget for a long time!”

From the opening riff of Wetzel’s beloved “February 28, 2016” to Dylan Wheeler’s moving cover of “Strawberry Wine,” the evening was steeped in emotion and electricity. Ray Wylie Hubbard shared the stage with his son Lucas, adding a touch of generational poetry, while Pecos Hurley’s fierce rendition of Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue” lit a patriotic fire under the crowd. And when Wetzel returned to the stage to close out the night with fan favorites like “High Road” and “Sweet Dreams,” it was clear, this wasn’t just a concert. It was a rallying cry.

More Than a Concert, A Movement

The night wouldn’t have been possible without the support of an all-star roster of partners, including Todd Graves and Raising Cane’s, PBR, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, Rock & Roll Denim, Hall Wines, Hurtado BBQ, Hooray Grills, Outlaw Beer, Double Eagle, New Country 96.3 (KSCS-FM), and 99.5 The Wolf (KPLX-FM).

Stronger Together was more than a benefit concert, it was a statement of solidarity, a reminder that the heartbeat of Texas lies not just in its music, but in its people.

And thanks to Koe Wetzel and a community unwilling to stand still in the face of disaster, Kerr County now has more than just hope. It has a full-throated, steel-stringed anthem of support ringing out across the state.
